Today, we experience the Moon’s opposition to Pluto as it leaves Cancer and enters Leo. The moon enters Leo around 2:39pm EDT. The moon opposite Pluto can bring up dynamics of power and vulnerability. The moon is our comfort zone and sense of security while Pluto is like running up the stairs while it’s dark to make sure the downstairs monster doesn’t get you. This opposition can bring challenges related to emotional regulation, jealousy, paranoia, manipulation, control, and abuse of power, especially in familial, domestic, or private/personal matters. This could feel like a bit of inner turmoil, but with the moon, in outwardly expressive Leo it could be a challenge not to project these emotions externally. The emotions that are exposed to you today could be a great catalyst for change. You could finally be addressing the root of behavior that you haven’t been able to lay to rest, no matter how hard you try. As you are forced to dig deeper into the uncomfortable feelings of a situation, you will finally be able to address it to the depth from which true evolution can happen.
Today could be really emotionally trying, but the Cancer & Leo moon will give us the ability to handle it with a certain poise. We stand up and show up for our emotions. We aren’t ashamed to let people see us cry today. We cry our tears with a certain fierceness, with our heads held high. We wear our emotions to showcase our bravery, our freedom, our power.
Neptune helps to unify this opposition with its trine to the moon and sextile to Pluto. Mercury, who just stationed direct at 4 EST in the morning (we’ll get into that in a second), is in the mix too with a sextile to the moon and trine to Pluto. Meanwhile, Mercury and Neptune sextile each other. So, logic teams up with our sense of fantasy and faith to help guide us through the grapple with today’s intensified and overexposed emotions. Neptune comes through with self-compassion and acceptance so that it can be a gentle, ease of flow into today’s emotional deep dives. Neptune, especially in mutable Pisces, brings a bit of fluidity to the surplus of cardinal and fixed energy that is heavyyyyy right now.
Mercury’s assist, especially fresh off the retrograde motion, comes from the confidence and comfort that words can bring to a situation today. Mercury trine Pluto (especially keeping the end of retrograde in mind obviously) makes me think of how sometimes words bring a sense of finality. It’s giving closure, even if it’s painful. Closure doesn’t always look how we want it. Maybe today’s closure is someone finally saying the thing that strikes a chord that helps you end a relationship that has been over. It could be the person themselves saying the thing that finally helps you to see them in their truth, helps you see the illusion you’ve been under, and helps you see the way that they have been misvaluing you. The Moon transitioning into Leo might be the click to choose self, choose love, choose your honor.
Today you’ll be able to look at your perceived losses and see the victory that was actually there the whole time. You’ll be able to see that no matter who or what you lose when you choose love and personal well-being you are always victorious. Today can feel like taking back power but in the loudest way possible. Metaphorically speaking, you’ll be flipping tables and pulling things up by the root. Yet, there might be a certain calmness to your storm. If it has been brewing for a while, today could just be the straw that breaks the camel’s back so you can go and get a horse. It might feel like a painful or inconvenient turn of events but a turn that was necessary to improve the quality of your journey. This will not stop you from getting to your next destination but will help you to be even more appreciative once you arrived.
